Overhunting can majorly affect the economy. While hunting represents substantial parts of the global economy, overhunting can result in the collapse of the economy. A report that was conducted by the United Nations Organization, has recorded that extinction has had multiple negative impacts on agriculture. Since the start of the century, more than 20% of all vegetated surfaces have shown to become less impactful. More than a third of all fishing spots in the oceans are being overexploited. Birds that have been eating insects and small animals on crop sites have decreased by 13%. The UN reports also state that 75% of all crops have to be pollinated to some extent. In many parts of the world, including Europe and North America, bee and butterfly populations have decreased immensely, and more than 15% of butterfly and bee species are currently battling extinction.
